Dr Sugato Paul is a senior Phaco surgeon and comprehensive ophthalmologist with special interest in Medical Retina.

Being trained in the Great Britain, he has performed several thousands of Injection less Phaco Cataract surgeries for over last 25 years.  Being known for his fine surgical skills, he is regularly invited at LIVE SURGERY Sessions at different Ophthalmology Conferences to demonstrate surgical techniques to the attending delegates

He has more than a decade of experience of working in the Great Britain (1999-2011), during which, he served as Director of Diabetic Retinopathy Screening and Management Services of Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust, UK (2004-2009).

He is regularly invited as Academic Faculty at various Ophthalmology meetings and conferences throughout India and abroad and given more than hundred invited talks

He is recipient of several Ophthalmology awards, of which the notable ones are, Smt Shovabati Das Ghosh Memorial Award of OSWB 2017, Dr Muralidhar Sengupta Memorial Award of KAO 2018, Gold Medal Award of Bombay Ophthalmology Association 2023 , EIZOC Recognition Award from Eastern India Zonal Ophthalmology Congress 2023.

He has served as the Chairman, Scientific Committee of Ophthalmological Society of West Bengal and currently he is the Joint Secretary of the same Organisation.

Dr Sugato Paul is known for giving adequate time to all his patients, while examining them and planning their further line of management.
