Dr. Soumo Mitra is an Orthodontist and Academician based in Kolkata with over 15 years of experience. He is the Chief Orthodontist at Apollo Hospital, the largest and leading private hospital in Kolkata and Professor at Department of Orthodontics, Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences, Kolkata which is the only NAAC A accredited dental college in Bengal. He maintains an exclusive orthodontic practice at his private clinic in Salt Lake, Kolkata.
Dr. Mitra completed his Master’s degree in Orthodontics from the prestigious AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore in 2007 with rank in the University exam. Thereafter he completed his Lingual Orthodontics residency program from SCB Medical College, Cuttack in 2014. He completed the Visiting Scholar Program, from National University of Singapore in the year 2016. He received the Invisalign certification in 2018 and is a silver provider.
His research interests include craniofacial morphology as related to orthodontics, body image and orthodontics etc. He has several national and international publications to his credit which have received citations in leading international orthodontic journals.
He lives in Kolkata with his wife Namrata and daughter Anusha. His other interests include sports, arts, travelling and cooking.
